Process

Five steps. You always know where things stand.

This is how your law firm website comes together. For each step you’ll find what happens, what you contribute and what you get.

Your time One thorough conversation at the start, and your approvals. I write the texts.

A brass seal stamp with a wooden handle presses into ultramarine sealing wax.

01 Website check

Free and in writing. You see what your site does well today and where it loses enquiries.

What happens

I look at your firm’s website the way clients find and use it. I check five things:

  • Findability Are you found by practice area and town?
  • Mobile view Can people get where they want with one thumb?
  • Contact path How many clicks until someone can enquire?
  • Load time How fast is the site really?
  • Mandatory details Is anything technical missing? Technical notes, not legal advice.

Your part

You send me your website address. I don’t need any logins or passwords for this.

You get

A written assessment covering these five points.

No website yet? Then tell me briefly about your plans in the same form.

I look at your website personally and usually get back to you within a few working days.

Whether we go further is up to you.

02 Conversation and proposal

We talk about your firm. Then you get a written proposal.

What happens

We have one thorough conversation. About your areas of law, the clients you want to reach and how enquiries reach you today. And about what bothers you about your current website. Afterwards I write you a proposal. You don’t sign anything during the conversation.

Your part

Time for one thorough conversation. You then read the proposal in your own time, on your own or with your partners.

You get

A written proposal with scope, price and schedule.

Before you decide, I’m happy to visit you at your firm in the Rhine-Main region, at a time we agree on.

§ 1 Everything in writing. What we discuss, you get in writing. Scope, price and schedule are in the proposal before you sign anything.

§ 2 No sales pressure. No calls you didn’t ask for, no reps, no signing during a conversation. You decide in your own time.

03 A draft to click through

You see your new site as a link, on your phone and on your computer, before it goes live.

What happens

I build a draft of your site and send you the link. You open it where your clients search: on your phone and on your computer. Nothing changes at your web address until launch.

Your part

You click through and tell me what works and what doesn’t. By email or phone, whichever suits you.

You get

A draft you can use just like the finished site. I’ll work in your comments as agreed in the proposal.

04 Texts and approval

I write, you read and approve.

What happens

I write the texts for your site: who you are, the areas of law in which you advise and represent clients, and how to arrange an initial consultation. Factual and in plain sentences, so clients quickly see whether you’re the right firm for them. If you already have texts, for example on your old website or in your lawyer directory profile, I use them as a starting point.

Your part

You read every text and approve it. When approving, you’ll want to check points like these:

  • Factual in form and content (§ 43b BRAO).
  • No advertising that lacks objectivity, is unfair or is misleading (§ 6(1) BORA).
  • Advertising with client matters or clients only with express consent (§ 6(2) BORA).
  • Practice focus areas and terms such as ‘specialist’ only under the conditions of § 7 BORA.
  • Specialist lawyer titles (Fachanwalt) only if your bar association has granted them to you.

You get

Finished texts for every page, ready to read and approve. Plus a checklist for the mandatory details under § 5 DDG and the DL-InfoV: bar association, professional title, professional rules, liability insurance.

I’m a designer, not a lawyer. Approving your texts under the professional rules is up to you.

§ 3 Your texts, your approval. Only what you’ve approved goes online. Every text, every image.

05 Launch

Your site goes live, and I stay reachable for you.

What happens

After your final approval, the site goes live at your address. If you already have a website, I redirect the old addresses cleanly to the new ones.

Your part

Your final approval. If needed, access to your domain so your address points to the new site.

You get

Your new website, live at your address. And the same contact as before: me.

§ 4 One point of contact. You always talk to me directly, by phone or email. No call centre, no ticket system.

What to have ready

What you’ll need

For the website check you need none of this, just your website address. I only need these details for the texts in step 4. Much of it is already in your Impressum (legal notice) or your insurance policy.

  • Your bar association and professional titleThe bar association (Rechtsanwaltskammer) you belong to, your statutory professional title and the state in which it was granted (§ 5 DDG).
  • Professional rulesWhich rules apply to you and where they can be accessed (§ 5 DDG).
  • Your professional liability insuranceThe insurer’s name and address and the territorial scope of cover (§ 2 DL-InfoV).
  • Your areas of lawThe areas in which you advise and represent clients, plus practice focus areas and specialist lawyer titles, as you’re entitled to use them.
  • Existing texts, if you have anyYour old website, your lawyer directory profile, a firm brochure. None of it is required.
  • Who approves on your sideYou, or the person at your firm who decides about the website.

Quick questions

Your question isn’t here? Write to me.

Get in touch
What does it cost, and how long does it take?

That depends on the scope: how many pages your website gets, how big your firm is, whether the website should be bilingual and whether an AI assistant is part of it. After the website check you get a written proposal that sets out everything: scope, price and schedule.

Do I have to decide anything on the phone?

No. You get everything in writing and decide in your own time. I don’t call unless you ask me to.

What if I don’t like the draft?

Then tell me. I’ll work in your comments as agreed in the proposal. Only what you’ve approved goes online.
